Richard Straw: RIPENESS

Autumn's a slow process, like rust. Cars abandoned last longer than their drivers. I feel "immortal" as nature decays.

Dad's father has died. My parents and I find the funeral home, and I go in first. As I approach his open casket, grandpa jumps out and dances a jig.
